Originally from Costa Rica, Laura is a bilingual attorney who brings both determination and compassion to her family law and appellate practice. Fluent in English and Spanish, she works with clients from diverse backgrounds and is committed to ensuring they feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the legal process.
She has built her practice around the cases many attorneys shy away from—the complex, high-conflict, and legally challenging matters that require persistence, strategic thinking, and creative advocacy. Laura earned her Licentiate in Law, Cum Laude in 1986 from the Universidad Autonoma de Centroamerica in San Jose, Costa Rica. In 1992, Laura achieved her Juris Doctor, Cum Laude from Stetson University College of Law. After graduating from law school a second time, Laura served as a Federal law clerk and then as a as Staff Attorney with the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. Now Laura handles family law matters and appeals.
Having gone through a divorce herself, Laura understands firsthand the emotional and personal stakes involved in family law disputes. That experience allows her to approach every case with empathy while still providing clear, strong, and effective legal guidance.
When she’s not advocating for her clients, she enjoys traveling and discovering new places and cultures, experiences that continue to broaden her perspective both personally and professionally.
