Easter Seals Disability Services


This past Friday, February 28, 2014, Attorney Christina Anton Garcia attended Easter Seals “A Pair to Remember” event at the Tampa Yacht & Country Club. This was Easter Seals fifth annual “A Pair to Remember” ladies luncheon and shoe auction.  Easter Seals is an organization that helps individuals with disabilities and special needs, as well as their families.  Attorney Christina Anton Garcia attended with Tampa Bay Parenting Magazine’s editor, Angela Ardolino.  Christina went home with several auction items & a pair of shoes to remember.The event provided a great time for a great cause!

Amanda M. Brill Speaks at Carrollwood Day School’s Career Day


In February, 2014, Attorney Amanda M. Brill had the privilege of being able to represent the legal field as a featured speaker at Carrollwood Day School’s Career Day.  Amanda spoke to high school students from 9th through 12th grade about her path to becoming an attorney. The students were eager to learn what it means to be a “lawyer” and how they too can become one.  Amanda thoroughly enjoyed telling her story to the students who responded with questions and excitement. Amanda looks forward to the opportunity to participate in Career Day again in the future.

Anton Castro Law is Collecting Toys for Toys for Tots!


Toys for Tots accepts new, unwrapped toys throughout the holiday season. Please drop off your donation to Anton Castro Law located at 1219 N. Franklin St. Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. before December 17th, 2013.  Marine Toys for Tots Tampa will pick up the toys and distribute them to children in need in Hillsborough County. We are proud to be a part of such a great cause!!

Please note that any toys that resemble weapons or include food of any kind will not be accepted by Toys for Tots.

John Castro & Katie Ashley Volunteer for Meals on Wheels


Attorneys John Castro and Katie Ashley brought some holiday cheer to needy individuals in the Tampa Bay community by volunteering with Meals on Wheels.

Anton Castro Law Volunteers for Voices for Children!


Anton Castro Law had a great time volunteering for Voices for Children’s Party in the Park on Saturday! The firm helped set up the VIP tent for the event that evening. Party in the Park was an all ages event featuring live music acts and various local vendors with proceeds benefitting Voices for Children Tampa. Voices for Children is a non-profit organization that supports volunteer Guardian Ad Litems. The organization recruits new volunteers, identifies resources, and provides support so the GALs can efficiently serve the children of Hillsborough County.  For more information on Voices for Children and the work they do for the community see their website at

Attorney John Castro Drums up Support for the First Tee of Tampa Bay


Personal Injury & Criminal Attorney John Castro, and his band KJ and the Ballistics, performed a charity concert on June 29th at Gaspar’s Grotto in Ybor City. Proceeds of the concert benefited The First Tee of Tampa Bay, which Mr. Castro serves as a board of director. The First Tee of Tampa Bay is dedicated  to positively impacting the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Congratulations to Attorney Christina Anton Garcia’s Inns of Court Pupilage Group for winning this year.  In response to their efforts the group was given $500 to donate to the childrens’ or family charity of their choice. The group chose the Hillsborough County chapter of Voices for Children. The donation will be formally given to the charity at a reception in September. Many thanks go out to the hard work these individuals put in for our community!

DUI, Criminal Defense & Personal Injury Attorney John Castro Speaks To Carrollwood Day School


DUI, Criminal Defense & Personal Injury Attorney John Castro spoke to the parents of Carrollwood Day School about teen choices and the legal consequences of those choices. Some of the topics discussed included the age of sexual consent, driving under the influence, explicit images sent by phone or computer known as sexting, and sealing of criminal records. The parents asked several great questions and were eager to learn.

Due to the positive feedback from the discussion, plans are currently being ironed out for a similar discussion with the students.

Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and DUI Attorney John Castro spoke with the students at Sacred Heart Academy as part of Catholic Schools Week. Mr. Castro discussed his own Catholic school experience and the importance of a good education. He explained that the skills, values, and lessons learned in school stay with you as an adult, and that they serve as a “moral compass” when faced with important decisions.

The Winter edition of Blu Magazine recently featured Christina Anton Garcia as one of Tampa Bay’s Ten Leading Ladies of 2011. The Leading Ladies are selected for their generosity and leadership roles in the community.  Blu featured the ladies as the “Bay area’s brightest, most giving, successful and dynamic women.”  In the article, Christina discusses her involvement with Junior League, Miles for Moffitt and other local charities she is involved with. Christina also shares her signature holiday dish- Magnolia Banana Pudding! John Castro participates in the Great American Teach-In


John Castro participated in the annual Great American Teach-In On November 17, 2011.  The Great American Teach-In is an opportunity to bring professionals, business leaders, and community members into local schools to demonstrate to students the benefits of getting a good education. It also allows students to gain perspective on many different types of career options. John was able to visit Tomlin Middle School in Plant City where he discussed the enjoyment of being an attorney in Hillsborough County.

The month’s issue of Tampa Women’s Magazine features another article by Christina Anton and Cynthia Winter! The article describes 7 tips on creating a parenting plan that lasts. As Florida family laws require parents who are getting a divorce or establishing paternity to create a parenting plan, these tips provide suggestions that may help save the parents from the emotional and financial stress of having to go back to court to modify the parenting plan later.

Christina Anton kicks off 83 Degrees Media’s “Not Your Average Speakers” Series


Christina Anton appeared on a panel of speakers on October 20, 2011 for 83 Degrees Media’s new speaker series. The discussion focused on future development of the Tampa Bay area.

Matt Spencer from 83 Degrees covered the event and wrote that, “Christina Anton of Anton Castro Law expressed her affinity for her relatively new Harbour Island neighborhood — a burgeoning higher-end residential community built on top of dredge from the channel leading to the Tampa Port.  Anton said she’d like to see a greater focus on night life and transit in downtown Tampa to attract people and jobs.”

Anton Castro Law Sponsors Young Lawyers Division Golf Tournament


On October 14th, Anton Castro Law helped sponsor the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Golf Tournament. Christina Anton and Cynthia Winter serve on the committee for the Young Lawyers Division. John Castro played in the tournament which was held at Rocky Point Golf Course.

The Young Lawyers Division is comprised of lawyers under the age of 36, who endorse a multitude of community service projects involving Big Brother/Big Sisters; Bay area foster children, Robert J. Simms Hillsborough County High School’s annual Mock Trial Competitions; and various pro bono services.

Christina Anton selected to The Tampa Connection’s Class of 2012


Christina Anton has been selected to The Tampa Connection’s Class of 2012. The Tampa Connection is an organization of Tampa professionals who utilize their leadership skills to actively volunteer for the benefit of several non-profit organization projects in the Tampa Bay community. Each professional attends classes to learn about current issues and events in the community and actively participates in community service projects from August 2011 through May 2012.

Christina Anton and Cynthia Winter have been selected to serve on the Events Committee of the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. The Young Lawyers Division is an organization of lawyers under the age of 36 that is designed to advocate professional and ethical conduct in the legal community and to endorse community involvement of its’ members. The Events Committee is responsible for planning, coordinating, fundraising, and overseeing all Young Lawyers Division member, social and sports events.

John Castro recently joined the volunteer network Hands on Tampa. HandsOn Tampa Bay (HOT) is Tampa Bay’s premier platform for volunteering and community service. Christina Anton selected as Protege for Emerge Tampa Bay’s 2011 Protege Program


Christina Anton has been selected from a competitive candidate pool to become a Protege for Emerge Tampa Bay’s 2011 Protege Program. The Protege Program is a six-month structured mentoring program that aims to enrich the professional development of Emerge Tampa Bay participants by partnering them with talented and seasoned professionals from the Tampa Bay business community.

Tampa Attorney Christina Anton runs in Miles for Moffitt


Tampa Attorney Christina Anton ran in the 5 mile Miles for Moffitt race on May 14, 2011 and finished in the top 10% of her age group. The race supports Moffitt Cancer Hospital’s research toward the cure for cancer.

John Castro Participates in Law Week Courthouse Tours


John Castro gave a fifth grade class from Mango Elementary a tour of the courthouse located in downtown Tampa. The students watched criminal court, viewed a juvenile holding cell and spoke with the Honorable Judge Conrad and the Honorable Dick Greco. The tour was a part of Law Week 2011, sponsored by the Hillsborough County Bar Association.

John Castro Volunteers for Quantum Leap


Quantum Leap Farm is a charity located in Odessa, Florida and was founded in 2000 to serve civilian adults and veterans with mental and physical disabilities. Their mission is to help people build strength, achieve goals and overcome challenges by engaging them with horses.

Quantum Leap Farm participants range in age from 3 to 92 years.  They are diagnosed with a variety of conditions including wounds of war: traumatic brain injury, post traumatic stress disorder, and spinal cord injury, as well as neurodegenerative and vascular diseases.

Anton Castro Law Celebrates its Grand Opening!


Attorneys Christina Anton and John Castro would like to thank those that attended the Grand Opening celebration of Anton Castro Law. The celebration was a fantastic success with over 150 people in attendance. The celebration took place on a beautiful Florida evening at the Fly Restaurant’s rooftop deck located in downtown Tampa, directly across the street from the firm’s offices. Those in attendance not only enjoyed the opportunity to spend time with friends, old and new, but also enjoyed a tasty array of hors d’oevres, cocktails and cigars.

Anton Castro Law Proudly Supports the Greater Tampa Bay Walk to Defeat ALS


Together we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by Lou Gehrig’s disease. We are committed to raising money to support people in our community with ALS and spread awareness of the urgency to find treatment and a cure. Please consider donating or joining our walk team.  The Walk to Defeat ALS will be held on March 12, 2011 at the University of South Florida.  Walk check-in will be from 8:30am – 9:30am.  The 1.5 mile walk will begin at 10:00am and finish around 11:00am.

The Cup of Compassion was February 10th, 2011 at Higgins Hall and benefits the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay. Tampa Criminal Attorney John Castro Volunteers with Horses for the Handicapped


Tampa Criminal Attorney John Castro volunteered at the Bakas Equestrian Center’s Horses for the Handicapped. The Bakas Equestrian Center is a highly successful program offered FREE to physically and mentally challenged children and adults to enable them to experience the joy, excitement and challenge of horseback riding. Operated by the Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation department, the program provides exercise, socialization and competition for participants.
